New Beginings

443 Floor Plan

Hi 443-ers!

If you missed our post on Facebook, we announced last week that will be reopening the 443 on Thursday July 22, 2021. Holy cow, it feels like FOREVER since we’ve had a show on our stage.

Now that we’ve pulled the trigger and made the announcement, the hard work begins. We’re reimagining the 443 for what feels like the 100th time.

When we reopened last fall with all the COVID restrictions, we removed all the upholstered living rooms and funky conversational areas. We needed to be able to clean and sanitize everything and keep people 6′ apart, but aside from that, the living rooms just weren’t working for us anymore.

When we opened in 2019 we were also a coffee house during the day and we served lunches…so the living rooms made sense. Unfortunately, we just couldn’t get any traction in a neighborhood with no foot traffic. We gave it our best shot but could not make it work. By the time we celebrated our first anniversary in January of 2020, we came to the realization that our focus needed to be live music – period, the end. We’re not a coffee house, we’re not a lunch joint, we’re not even a happy hour place or just a bar where people hang out. We are an intimate live music venue.

That’s all well and good, but it really limits the number of hours each day, and even how many days per week, we can be open.

Our goal for our reopen is to streamline our operation as much as possible this time around, knowing what we know now. We don’t want to move heavy sofas every time there is a ticketed show, we need to make our bar more efficient and we’ve got to cut back on what we offer for food – we just don’t have space or the facilities to do what we’ve been doing.

The first order of business was to figure out our new floor plan.

We’ve often talked about having an area for standing room. Once we have filled all our seats, it’s tricky to accommodate walk-ins without obstructing the sitelines of other patrons. After spending a whole day playing around with different arrangements, this is what we came up with:

443 Floor Plan

We now have 3 options for our ticketed performances:

PREMIUM TABLES

Table for TWO, includes table service (23 available)

PREMIUM SINGLE

Single barstool at the bar directly across from the stage (5 available)

GENERAL ADMISSION SINGLE

Our general admission area has a drink rail around the perimeter, 11 high-top cocktail tables, and several bar stools. The tables and stools are first come first served and cannot be reserved. We recommend you arrive when the doors open for the event if you would like a barstool and/or table. Most, if not all, GA ticket holders will be able to secure a barstool, but we cannot guarantee a seat unless you’re purchasing a Premium Table or Premium Single. You may have to stand for the show if you are purchasing GA tickets.

We will include this information in all the shows we post on EventBrite, and you’ll see all three options when you check out. Please read the details carefully. Also, if you’re holding tickets from a show in 2020 that was canceled, we’ll automatically put you into Premium Seating.

We’re working hard to get all our canceled shows rebooked, so keep an eye on our Facebook page.

CHEERS!
