Rent the Room

Are you planning a party, shower, or special event? The 443 is available for rent!

I’m interested in renting The 443 for a private event. When is it available?

The 443 is available for rent whenever we don’t have live music scheduled. If you can book your event 2+ months out, you’ll have more open dates to choose from, including Friday and Saturday nights.

Our time slots are 12-4pm and 6-10pm, and you’ll have access to the room one hour before the party and one hour after. If you book a party during the day, have a plan in place to remove decorations, gifts, and other items promptly as we will typically have another party or one of our own shows booked in the evening.

How much does it cost to rent the room?

The cost to rent the room is $500 for a 4-hour party, which includes an hour for setup and an hour for break down. You’ll have access to the venue for 6 hours total. The outdoor patio can be utilized at no extra charge when the weather permits between May and October.

Our timeslots are 12pm-4pm and 6pm-10pm.

In addition to the room rental, we have a minimum required spend at the bar for all private events. For daytime events, the minimum is $600.

Evening events on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday have a minimum $1000 spend, and evening events on Thursday, Friday or Saturday have a minimum $1500 minimum spend.

The minimum bar spend can be met with any combination of a cash bar, consumption bar, beverage station, open bar, etc.

The room rental includes 1 staff member for groups of up to 49 people. For groups over 50, there may be an additional charge of $50 for a second staff member.

Prices do not include sales tax or 20% gratuity.

We require a $100 non-fundable deposit (which is applied to your rental cost) and a signed contract in order to book a date and the remaining $400 of the room charge is due 30 days before the event. VIP Patrons receive a reduced room rental for private events.

What kinds of events can I hold at The 443?

Our official capacity inside is 88 people. We also have a spacious outdoor patio that holds about 75 when the weather permits between May and October. We require a minimum of 25 guests for a private event.  We are ideal for engagement parties, celebrations of life, graduation, and birthday parties.

If you are holding an event where everyone will be seated (like a baby or bridal shower), our seated capacity for a party is 50 people maximum.

What are my options for food?

We do not have a kitchen or large prep area, so the “in-house option” we offer for private events is a grazing table, which happens to be insanely popular right now. You can find more information HERE.

Grazing Table

If you’d like to go in another direction, you can choose your favorite caterer or bring in food items yourself, but everything must arrive ready to serve. Food must be served according to Onondaga County Health Department guidelines, please contact us for more information.

If you’re planning a large group, we strongly suggest having the food professionally catered. It’s difficult (not to mention stressful) to prepare food for 50-80 people in a home kitchen and then get it to our venue while it’s still piping hot.

Food trucks are also welcome (and fun!).

Do I need to bring my own paper goods and utensils?

We provide basic ivory plates (luncheon and dessert sizes), white napkins, and black plastic utensils. If you prefer to bring in color-coordinated paper goods, you’re welcome to do so.

Glassware and plastic cups are also provided.

Are we allowed to decorate?

Our existing decor cannot be removed, but you are welcome to decorate for your party. We do not allow guests to climb ladders, so please review your decor plan with Julie prior to arrival. The following items are prohibited: confetti, glitter, rice, birdseed, potpourri, and bubbles.

Before you purchase specialty decorations for your gathering, check out our “Decor Options & Extras” page HERE. We provide your choice of linen color plus dessert and candy bar display pieces and 8″x10″ custom signs at no extra charge. We’ve also got premium decor options available for an extra fee.

I see you don’t allow children to your regular shows. Do you allow them to attend private events?

We do, but if you have more than a handful of children under the age of 10 years old, our venue is probably not the best choice for you. Our environment is not particularly kid-friendly and we have a lot of expensive musical gear on our stage. Children cannot play on or near the stage and there isn’t anywhere for them to run around. Also, we do not have a changing table in our restrooms.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Unfortunately, our room is not accessible to wheelchairs.

We inherited a pair of restrooms in our 80+-year-old building that could charitably be described as “quirky”. We investigated several scenarios, but unfortunately, we are not able to make the rooms accessible without gutting both of them completely and moving walls, which comes with a hefty price tag. We simply couldn’t manage it along with the other expenses involved in opening the venue.

Our long-term plan is to convert our teeny-tiny men’s room and oddly arranged ladies room into two unisex wheelchair-accessible restrooms, as well as add a ramp to our front entrance

I’d like to have live music at my event. Can I have a band perform?

Definitely! You can work with our in-house sound tech to coordinate live music, and he will need to be on hand during the event. The tech fee is $125. Our stage is 11.5′ wide x 8′ deep x 18″ high. If you’d like assistance booking a band, we’re happy to help with that too!

Where should my party guests park?

Parking is plentiful, free, and easy on Burnet Avenue – there is no odd/even parking or meters, and you can park on both sides of the street. BUT – Please be considerate of our neighbors. Do not block driveways, garage doors, or other entrances.
