REVUE REVIEW
Installment #2

On December 4, 7pm, Chuck Shiele will be hosting a showcase at The 443 featuring the incredible talents of John Cadley, Mikal Serafim—both of whom you know as Syracuse music killers and—Introducing—Anna Troy who is a music friend of Chuck’s from his San Diego days. She is now living in Brooklyn. She was signed to Elektra Records when she was 15. She can play guitar with bad boys, but, Ladies you will dig it. She’s great so we want you to meet her.

The event is here to showcase the music, songwriting, and the charismatic charm of each of these uniquely-gifted artists, up-close, in unplugged fashion.

All you music gormandizing nice people will come on down to dig the super cool show and the super cool vibe.

Then:
In Chuck’s column Sounds of Syracuse in Table Hopping Magazine, Chuck will talk about what happened at the show and he’ll announce the next Revue Review showcase. We promise to bring you compelling talent every time, so come on down and let’s have a great time. It’s good for you. It’s good for our city.

Featured Artists

JOHN CADLEY began his professional career at age 18 with the Glencoves, a 1960’s folk group that had a national Top 40 hit with the song “Hootenanny ” (you can find it on YouTube). He has also been a touring road musician out of Nashville, and his songs have been recorded by national bluegrass artists such as Tony Trischka, Jim Hurst, Missy Raines, Amy Gallatin, Richard Kiser, the International Guitar Duo, Dede Wyland, and Lou Reid, who took John’s song, “Time,” to the #1 spot on the national bluegrass charts for three consecutive months. John’s first solo CD, The Closer I Get, was selected by the Just Plain Folk Awards as one of their Top 5 picks from over 17,400 entries worldwide. In 2017 John was inducted into the Syracuse Area Music (SAMMY) Hall of Fame.

ANNA TROY is based out of New Yor City. Her music is a mix of blues, jazz and rock and has recently been influenced by her classical and jazz training from Columbia University. While living in NYC she’s performed with the Columbia jazz ensemble at Symphony Space, fronted her blues band at B.B. Kings and rocked it out with her sister Lindsey Troy, when she opened for Lindsey’s band, Deap Vally at the, Mercury Lounge. Prior to attending Columbia, she spent many years as an independent artist in Southern California where she had the chance to open for international acts like Jason Mraz, Johnny Winter and America. All of this was preempted by her experiences as a teenager signed to Elektra Records with her younger sister as punk-pop duo, The Troy’s.

MIKAL SERAFIM is the guitar singer-songwriter for the 3 time Sammy nominated Funky Blu Roots and will bring his brand of original jazzy funky blues-rock to 443 Dec 4.
