“Like Jools Holland possessed by Jerry Lee Lewis and The Devil Himself” – Jon Aizlewood, London Evening Standard
“His bar-room boogie piano manages to be, variously, celebratory, rolling, turbulent, manic and even – delicate and moving.” -Jude Clarke, BBC Music
“Very few pianists on the planet can put as much sheer emotion or adrenaline-fueled virtuosity into their performances.” -Matt Frost, The Blues Magazine
On Thursday, September 22, boogie & blues piano phenom Henri Herbert brings his electrifying show to town for one night only.
With over 100 million video views and concerts around the world, Henri Herbert is one of the most popular boogie and blues piano players in the world. Originally from the UK. Henri has called Austin, TX home for the past three years.
His concert at The 443 Social Club & Lounge is his debut performance in Syracuse – doing so in a room where every attendee sees, hears, and feels each note. It’s a rare opportunity to witness first-hand the music that birthed rock n’ roll and inspired so many of today’s rock legends.
In concert, Henri makes clear that this rollicking sound remains as invigorating today as it did 100 years ago when boogie and blues began its takeover of barrooms and juke joints across America.
On Friday, September 23, Henri Herbert releases his latest album, ‘Boogie ‘Till I Die,’ a solo piano recording featuring both instrumentals and vocal tracks. The record is an ode to the vigor, breadth and staying power of boogie-woogie piano with Henri showcasing new originals and taking on many of his favorite songs popularized by several of his all-time favorite artists. The latter range from the highly-energized ‘Don’t Mean A Thing’ to boogie-woogie renditions of ‘Sweet Lorraine,’ ‘Must Have Been The Devil,’ Oscar Peterson’s stunning ‘Hymn To Freedom’ and more. ‘Boogie ‘Till I Die’ is intoxicating from start to finish and is poised to bring this soul-stirring American artform, boogie-woogie, to new audiences worldwide.
‘Boogie ‘Till I Die’ will be available for purchase at Henri’s 443 Social Club concert.
“I’m am thrilled to share my new album with the world this September and get back out on the road playing these songs,” states Henri. “A silver lining of the last two years was getting to take my time with this record. These are many of my all-time favorite compositions and am proud of these recordings. Gonna boogie ‘till I die starting with a rockin’ night of music at The 443.”
This show is Henri’s only concert in the Syracuse region.
