Special Permit APPROVED!

Celebration
QUICK UPDATE:
Our special permit was approved at today’s Common Council meeting, including the waivers to allow live entertainment, vinyl lettering on our door and on-street parking. This means (I think) that we are clear to get all the permits we submitted back in July – the special permit, sign permit, entertainment license and certificate of use. Whoo-hoooo!
Our grease trap is in the building, which is a small miracle all by itself – it took about 8 months and 5 plumbers to make this happen.
Grease Trap
I know it doesn’t look exciting, but I cannot even tell you how much joy this brings us. We’re hoping the trap will be installed along with our water purification system and all the plumbing by the end of this week. Once that’s done we can get our permit with the health department.
In the meantime, we’re working on our next two hurdles – our liquor license and our hearing with the Zoning Board of Appeals on November 15 to get a waiver so we can have a stage. There is no sane argument not to give us one, so hopefully the appeals committee feels the same way.
