Fun Finds

fun finds

One of the most fun parts of this process has been finding quirky and unusual items to display in the room.

My creative and awesome pal Robyn turned me on to the Curator of Cool, which is an antique store specializing in mid-century modern and groovy 1970’s goodies. The owner Anne is absolutely wonderful!

I scored some very cool pieces for the room at her shop in Baldwinsville, like this funky electric fireplace and a pair of velvety chartreuse barrel chairs.

I’m so glad we grabbed the fireplace…obviously, it doesn’t serve any real purpose, but it ended up being perfect in the room. It reminds me of the basement “dens” that everyone had in their houses when I was growing up in the 70’s.

I also became fixated on 1970’s lamps for a while thanks to Anne’s store

We found a large, sturdy handmade church pulpit on Craigslist that we plan to use to house the laptop that will control the soundboard for the stage.

Coincidentally, the guy selling it was the owner of a bar I used to work in 15 years ago – his dad was a minister.

And then there is Lemmy.

I found this wrapped canvas print on Etsy and knew it was perfect for the wall at the end of the hallway leading to the bathrooms.

Why? Well…why not?

Also, Lemmy is god. 😉
